The Beat ft. Ranking Roger

Posted on Updated on

We never even thought it would be possible to see these ska legends play live, and now we’re going to be playing at their show in Plymouth! The Beat ft. Ranking Roger is on a huge UK tour, coming to The Hub on FRIDAY 4th November.

Having just released their first studio album in over 30 years, The Beat are touring extensively with the fantastic “BOUNCE” which is available on CD, Vinyl and Digital on DMF Records. It may have been 30 years or so since the last installment, but the band’s 4th studio album packs in 11 tracks of solid ska. The subjects might have changed, but the message and the energy is still the same. The first single “Walking on the Wrong Side” is simply superb, capturing those reggae and political vibes.

This Friday at one of Devon’s finest intimate live music venues, The Hub in Plymouth, Skata Tones will be honoured to provide a 30 minute support set ahead of the full show. Tickets will be available online right up until doors open at 8pm from HERE

“One of the originators of political pop is back on fine form, avoiding the obvious with an album to be proud of. In fact it’s like The Beat have never been away. What more could anyone want? Ranking full stop.” (The Beat website)

Here’s where it all started, before most of us were born:
