Skata Tones decided it was all aboard for good times, gigs and festivals going into 2016…
they hit the studio. The film studio and the recording studio. February saw a sold out performance at the Palladium Club as well as a packed crowd at The Tavern
A great gig supporting the mighty Dub Pistols followed with debut appearances at The Grapevine and The Thatch. We released our three videos by Bristol Live Rooms in March
A packed April gave us support slots with Regime, Tankus the Henge and the Undercover Hippy alongside a packed out house at Mr Wolf’s. Bristol and a steamy night in at the Blue & Green. Whoosh…
May was more sedate, but a support slot with Tankus the Henge and opportunity to play with Gentleman’s Dub Club made it special. Appledore Sausage and Ale Festival started our festival season off with great food and beer!
June was a quiet month. Skata Tones took some time, wrote some bangers and practised Eastern philosophy.
Wham! Festivals, gigs, supports. You name it, we did it in July! Miles on the board.
…And then there was Beautiful Days. Of course we also played Croyde Beer Festival and Bideford Music Day, but as our biggest festival to date it gets centre stage. It was grand.
Just the one appearance in September whilst we recovered from Beautiful Days withdrawal syndrome. Cody Jones stood in on drums at Heddon Valley Beer Festival and was an animal!
Boom! September got busy! Not only returning to The Watering Hole with the Dub Pistols, but a double bill support with Land of the Giants and Undercover Hippy, followed by two gigs in a row with legends Dreadzone!
So did anyone mention our EP #LiveYourLifeUp? THEN we supported The Beat! All our Christmases came early. A lovely spot with Tankus the Henge in our favourite Appledore was followed by a last-minute call to support The Beat AGAIN in Exeter. Blown away.
Finishing the year with some local pubs to great crowds has felt really great. Love to you all.
Bring on 2017. It’s going to be a good year!
