What a year for Skata Tones…

What a year for Skata Tones…

To say 2018 has been “great” for Skata Tones would be an understatement

After the year that stole so many great musicians, this year had to be better, right???

For Skata Tones, this was a case of starting as you mean to go on. Heads down in the studio, the band laid the tracks for a new album before starting the year with a bang.

Supporting Dub Pistols at Exeter Phoenix began the year’s gigs, shortly followed by a sellout showcase at Appledore St Mary’s Hall with support from the impossible Scott Xander Linn.

The Skata train carried on, picking off another huge crowd at Mr Wolf’s, Bristol and other venues along the way.

Festival fever then kicked in, with memorable performances at OUTWest, Jurassic Fields, Wishfest, Sheppyfest, Lapstock, Beautiful Days and more…

At long last, we saw the release of our video for A Day At The Fair, featuring footage from our 2017 Boomtown Fair appearance. What a place, what a weekend…

In September a new album finally arrived. #aDayAtTheFair was born – on CD and limited edition ORANGE VINYL! Available from the Skata Shop and at gigs, this is the MUST HAVE album of the moment. It was a massive hit at the SELLOUT band showcase at The Palladium Club with support from The Barefoot Bandit.

And then the House Of Fun Weekender! Support for the Nutty Boys themselves. Playing ahead of Madness was something special.

After that, being played on Radio 1Xtra by David Rodigan was simply the icing on the cake.

With loads of festivals and lots of other cool things to announce in 2019, Skata Tones are on a roll. Make sure you like us on Facebook and follow our feeds for all the latest info…
